A Lunchtime Visit to The Wallace Collection

An extraordinary private collection in the heart of London

The Wallace Collection is one of our favourite places to visit in London. A magnificent array of the most extraordinary works of art, sculpture, furniture, decorative arts and more. Amassed across two centuries and five generations, the collection was bequeathed to the nation at the end of the 19th century and was available for the public to see from 1900 - housed in the family’s substantial estate on Manchester Square in Central London. With over 5 and a half thousand objects, the house is a feast for the eyes. Here are just eight photos that gives you a glimpse of what we saw during our lunch time visit. We urge you to take a visit if you are in London - it really is quite a special place indeed. To know a little more about the collection’s history, please visit http://www.wallacecollection.org
