These two early 19th century Hepplewhite design chairs are offered to you in excellent condition.

Made from mahogany, the chairs have wide shield backs with fine hand crafted detail that includes the Prince of Wales motif.

The arms are reeded to the hand rest and beyond whilst the legs are in tapered form and have stretchers for additional support.

The drop in seats are in very good condition and can support weight. The rich blue material shows minor signs of wear but not to detract from the chairs' beauty.

A fine example of English furniture making history.

FYI; George Hepplewhite was an 18th furniture maker, now regarded in the same league as Chippendale and Sheraton. Very little is known about the man and none of his original pieces remain. All chairs on the market today are made from the designs he drew up during his lifetime.
