This is an exquisite claret jug designed by Walker and Hall in the aesthetic style,

The silver plate mount maintains its 'A1 stamped' plating and is surrounded by a geometric motif. The handle includes a Bacchus face to the top and its deceptive delicate and sinuous shape is indeed strong and capable of supporting its full weight. The mount's lid is very reminiscent of George IV's Regency rooftops found at the Brighton Pavilion.

The cut glass shows all the signs of quality with its star cut base and acid etched geometric design of starbursts and parallel lines.

A wonderful and not often seen example of Walker and Hall's craftsmanship.
