This is a very handsome silver plate biscuit barrel made by Hukin and Heath at the beginning of the 20th century
In fantastic condition, the barrel is decorated in a Grecian style with a repeating key motif that surrounds the rim of the lid as well as top and bottom of the barrel. To the front of the barrel is a blank cartouche, ready for personal engraving if desired.
The barrel sits on an integrated base that is supported with three clawed feet.
The silver plate has rubbed slightly over time but the item maintains in impact and beauty.
A great addition to any collection.
