This fine antique Victorian silver plate sardine dish was made by Walker and Hall circa 1880.

The elegant rectangular casket with its soft edges is decorated with chased a ivy design to all sides. The lift-off lid continues the leaf motif, surrounding a unique conch shell finial. The swing handle is strong and maintains its smooth mechanism. There no damage or repair to the casket whatsoever.

Internally, the cut glass dish is in perfect condition and is decorated with a combination of cut lattice and spheres.

Over the past 140 years, the plating has dulled somewhat to the casket but in our opinion does not detract from the beauty of the collectable piece.
