A very delicate and well decorated butter dish by Walker and Hall.
The glass liner is in perfect condition without any damage or restoration. It has been hand cut with a series of starbursts. The lid has been engraved with an elaborate repeating fan style motif and has a detailed swan shaped finial.
The formal stand protects the liner with four pillars and stands on four splay feet. You will see the plating has rubbed around the outside of the base from 150+ years of use. Noticeable but not a distraction from the overall impact of the piece.
