An extraordinary antique strawberry dish made by Elkington and Co in 1904.

The large dish includes two strawberry trays that have been moulded into a scallop shell shape. In between these trays sits a creamer and a sugar bowl. Both of these vessels have repousse effect design and pinched rims. The hooped handle with its central flame-like effect completes the first-class design of this set.

Elkington and Co were top craftsman in the field of silver plating and this set is representative of this reputation. The plating on all elements of this set remains in sparkling condition. The only blemish is some minor pilling to the central area of each tray; a result of age commensurate use.
