This antique silver plate and etched glass claret jug was made towards the end of the Victorian period.

Presented to you in fantastic condition, the Grecian motif is evident across the entire piece. The silver plate mount is elaborately decorated with a Dionysus style spout (Dionysus was the Greek god of wine). The handle takes its form from palatial architectural cues.

The etched glass is the star of this jug. Surrounding the jug, dance four unique characters enjoying the revelry of a party. A repeating motif of Greek keys has been etched into the top and base of the glass to complete the design.

Internally the jug is clean and free from damage. There is some very minor wear to the glass under the spout but most definitely not a distraction from the overall impact of this special piece.
