This exquisite and rare Art Nouveau piece was created by the famed Carl Deffner in c 1900.
A large and impressive piece, the superb decoration that repeats around the piece is the epitome of the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil period in which is was made. The striking triple pierced handles, each with their heavy rounds take the design to higher level.
The brass maintains a wonderful colour and shows very little signs of age. There are no holes to the base or elsewhere and there is no restoration or repair.
A glorious piece from one of the great designers of the period.
