Large Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Box
Large Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Box
This impressive and large biscuit barrel was designed and made at height of Victoria's reign.
It is offered to you in almost mint condition. The silver plate survives extremely well with just very minor wear commensurate of its 150 years. There is a tiny black mark to the base where the plating has rubbed but this does not detract from the beauty of the piece.
The cut glass is absolutely striking. The repeating motif of lattice and diamond shapes sparkles brightly in the light. There are no chips or damage to the glass.
The glass box is surrounded by a delicate and intricate garland that keeps it securely in place.
The box sits balanced on four heavily decorated splayed legs and the lid's mechanism is smooth.
A special piece that would be fantastic addition to any collection.
