This is a special Victorian antique sardine box that was made by Mark Willis and Sons from Sheffield in the late 19th century.

The silver plate stand is designed in a geometric shape. The simple elegance allows the expertly coloured glass box the opportunity to be the star of the show. The box has been hand cut in deep grooves to all sides, whilst the rim has a riveted edge, coloured with a soft sunshine yellow.

The lid is elaborately engraved with a floral motif whilst the sardine finial is what makes this box extra special and reflects the superior design of the piece.

It is offered to you in fantastic condition. The glass show no signs of wear, whilst the stand does show some signs of running to the front and to the lid; commensurate with use over a period of 135 years.

A great addition to any collection.
