This is a rare piece of WMF craftsmanship. An impressive cigarette box that was made c. 1909.

Taking the shape of a sarcophagus, the large item sits on four balled feet and is heavily engraved on all surfaces with a repeating curved pattern. It is balanced and functions well with a smooth lid mechanism.

Internally, the condition of the wood is fantastic, whilst externally can see in the photos that the silver plate has rubbed to reveal the brass base.

A special piece from the Art Nouveau period that would be a unique addition to your collection.
