An outstanding silver plate WMF jardinière or centrepiece with its original glass liner.

Taking a neo-classical form, this imposing piece is decorated with a motif of elegantly crafted laurel leaves resting on repeating horizontal lines. The large tri-armed handles continue the laurel motif and are reminiscent of gondola ends. The piece sits on four intricately designed legs that take the form of miniature jardinieres themselves.

The silver plating on the stand is in wonderful condition with only minor rubbing that is commensurate with its age and can really only been seen when held to the light. The heavy original liner has a small chip to the rim, as seen in the photos, but overall remains clean and clear.

A fine example of the WMF craftsmanship that we know and admire.
