Aesthetic Style Victorian Egg Cruet Set

Aesthetic Style Victorian Egg Cruet Set

€145.00

This rare aesthetic style egg cruet set was made by Frederick Wilson in the late Victorian period - c. 1885.

Elaborately detailed with a natural branch effect, the stand forms the platform for two chickens and grand cockerel to stand proudly, protecting the precious breakfast eggs beneath.

The base has a contrasting simple design that is also seen in the four elegant cups.

You will see in the photos, the plating has rubbed in the centre of the base and to the cups. The rubbing is less visible in reality compared with the photos. Once given as a present, the stand is engraved 'From G.C.'.

A rare example of an egg cruet set, this Victorian piece will certainly bring a special element to your breakfast.
