Antique Victorian Stoneware and Silver Plate Biscuit Box

Antique Victorian Stoneware and Silver Plate Biscuit Box

€550.00

This is a rare biscuit box.

Made at the height of the Victorian era, the combination of stoneware and silver plate is outstanding.

The stoneware has been beautifully designed with an intricately repeating floral motif to the rim of the base. An impressive and impactful garland majestically surrounds the middle of the piece.

The silver plate top, lid and handle are equally admirable. Again, intricately designed with a complementing garland motif. To the top, the lid is engraved with a design of leaves and flowers.

The four-leaf finial and shielded handle finish off this piece perfectly.

Presented in absolutely wonderful condition, the stoneware both inside and out is without damage, wear or discolouration. The silver plate also is without damage, dents or restoration. There is a small area near the finial that has rubbed to slightly reveal the brass underneath. Difficult to see and definitely not a distraction from the overall beauty of this special piece.
