Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Box - William Hutton

Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Box - William Hutton

€200.00

This silver plate biscuit box, made by William Hutton, is in impeccable condition.

Created in c. 1880, the box is elaborately engraved with a a series of floral garlands on all sides. The front and back facades have open cartouches; ready for engraving.

The box sits atop an integrated stand with four clawed feet. The hinged lid with its smooth mechanism has a large parasol shaped finial. Internally, you can see from the bright shine of the plating that this precious item has barely - if ever - been used.

A fantastic example of a Victorian biscuit box.
