Christopher Dresser for Hukin And Heath Entree Dishes - A Pair

€545.00

This pair of presentation platters were designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser for Hukin and Heath in 1880.

Rarely seen as a pair, it is a real pleasure to be able to offer you these special pieces.

Proudly presented in perfect condition, the craftsmanship of Hukin and Heath is still evident today in the first-class electroplating, not to mention the unique design that is as contemporary today as it was 140 years ago.

The bark effect is hand hammered and with its accented leaves, it is representative of the Victorian aesthetic movement. The two serving spoons continue this motif with their vine-like design.

Christopher Dresser was an extraordinary designer with vision years ahead of his time. Throughout his career he chose his collaborators carefully. The first-class silversmiths; Hukin and Heath were one of these carefully chosen partners. Throughout their relationship they created a few but forever remembered designs and pieces.

An extraordinary and historic set that would no doubt be a magnificent addition to your collection.
